Disciples Yet Not Received The Holy Ghost (Page 3)

When the disciples at Ephesus received the gift of the Holy Spirit, they spoke with tongues and prophesied. The gift of the Holy Spirit is given to dwell in a believer who is baptized in the name of the Lord. This is the promise of the Lord for all those who obey (Acts 5:33).

The Holy Spirit works in believers to bring the work of sanctification progressively. He brings comfort to our wearied lives on the earth. He encourages us to see the brighter future of Millennial glory and Eternal prospects for our life. “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

For to one is given by the Spirit the word of the wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gift of the healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discernment of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to each man severally as He will” 1 Cor 12: 7-11. These gifts are given to cause edification to the body of believers and to bring unbelievers to the Lord.

The Holy Spirit dwelling in us is preparing us for the glorious appearance of the Lord by changing our inward soulical nature to the spiritual and divine nature, and, is working through us to testify along with Him about the Lord by using different gifts bestowed on us to bring blessing to others.

Lord may help us to have these two experiences that the disciples at Ephesus experienced. Those who do not have, ask the Lord in faith, to be able to receive them “Ask it shall be given” Matthew 7:7.
