Disciples Yet Not Received The Holy Ghost (Page 2)

Baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, when exercised in faith, brings the believers into the experience of the new realm. Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins, and in His shed blood, we have the forgiveness of sins. But our Lord resurrected from dead defeating the power of death. He rose again to impute righteousness unto us.

Baptism in the name of the Lord is not only believing that the Lord died for our sins, but that we also died with him. When He was raised from the dead, we also were raised with Him, to walk in the newness of life. The ones who were at Ephesus did not have this experience because they were not baptized in the name of the Lord. If a person was touched by the Spirit and believed in the Lord but did not have the true experience of identifying with the Lord in His death and resurrection by faith, he will not be able to enjoy the power of the Lord working in him.

When a person is led into this experience of baptism in the Lord, he receives the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38) The Holy Spirit dwells in him, to enlighten progressively about the Father and Son. He directs us to look unto Them (Father and Son), enlightens us to understand the ways and plans of the Father for our lives and the power made available through the Son to attain those purposes, by faith.

Baptism in the name of the Lord is a testimony saying that “I died and rose again with the Lord to live under the authority of the Lord”.

Baptism in the name of the Lord is an expression to say, “It is not I who live but Jesus Christ is living in me” (Gal 2:20).

The Holy Spirit enlightens us to come into this experience, to come and live under the authority of the Lord, to own the power to defeat the flesh and the world and, to pass through triumphantly all the temptations of the evil one.
