Matthew 5:5

Matthew 5:5

SERMON ON THE MOUNT

5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth

What meekness is explained, exercising the strength of God in man is called Meekness. Besides our Lord, we have a very good example in(Numbers 12: 1-16) about Moses in the scriptures.

Learning to be living in the presence of the Living God, and exercising patience and godliness will lead into inherit the earth in the coming dispensation in the ruling.

In the case of Lord, He submitted to the will of the father even to go to the cross, where we see the strength of God working which is the meekness.  In case of Paul we see the same nature recorded in 2 Tim 4.

It is explained how we should appropriate this character in Matthew 11: 28-30. This is also mentioned in Psalm 37:11 compared with Matthew 5:5. What it means to enjoy the peace of God in adverse situations.

The blessing was truly inherited by David as He learned to do the will of God. The church of the firstborn will receive the twofold blessings that is in Heaven and earth. Rev 1:6, Ephesians 1: 9-10. Romans 8:17
